Crowds came out on one of the hottest days of the summer to enjoy some good bacon and wash it down with beer, all served up by vendors set up around the green.

Some of the bacon items dished up included shish kabobs, a bacon spread and chocolate-covered bacon, among others.

After the main event, diners could finish off their meal with a refreshing Italian ice or ice cream to help cool down.

The event also featured live entertainment, with many bands hitting the stage, as well as vendors selling bacon-themed merchandise.

Judy Winans, from BAB Boutique, explained how her clothing company was created. “My daughter and I, about three years ago, decided to start this company because we want to inspire women. We want women to be confident, which led to our business and express that with our clothing,” Winanas said.

Radio stations I-95 and Kicks 105 were also there, holding a raffle for concert tickets. Sara Currier, from Townsquare Media, was impressed by the turnout. “I’ve never seen a more satisfied crowd of listeners and people from even out of state,” Currier said.

Among the other vendors were 1st and 10 Sports Bar & Grill, AJ’s Rockin’ Ribbons, ARadia Farm, BAB Boutique, Bacon Bites, Butthead’s Tobacco Emporium, Culligan, Danbury Tattoo, Danbury Titans, Gallucci Catering, Grassy Plain Vape & Smoke, Hacienda Don Manuel, Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes, Hannah & Jack’s Treats, Hog Wild BBQ, Lebanese Cuisine, Maple Craft Foods, Monster Mini Golf, New York Life Insurance, Ralph the Ice Cream Guy, Romy’s BBQ, Sal’s Italian Flavor, Storm Guard, Swenson Granite Works, The Bacon Jams, Tiger’s Den, and Vision Designs.

The bands included: Jacob Kulak, Dizzyfish, Rick Derringer, and Georgia Satellites.

“The music was good and the vendors had amazing food. You get the picture, it was an awesome event,” Currier added.
